What to Expect After Submitting an Inquiry to ImLaw

ImLaw is a team of dedicated immigration law professionals. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI, we serve clients around the globe with business-based and family-based immigration to the United States. We want to make it easy for employers and individuals to learn about our areas of practice and our team, see what industries we’ve worked with, and find helpful and timely information relevant to your needs. We also provide a simple digital inquiry form to initiate contact with ImLaw. In today’s post, we’ll look at what you should expect after submitting an inquiry to us.

  1. Review Information

After your electronic inquiry form is submitted, we review your information and direct it to the appropriate team member. Electronic inquiry submissions are seen by a legal assistant and an attorney. Whenever possible, we strive to respond to an inquiry within 24-48 hours of receipt.

  2. Determine Suitability

If your inquiry involves an area of immigration law or a type of legal matter that we do not handle at ImLaw, we’ll do our best to provide you with a referral to an attorney, law firm, or legal organization that may be able to assist you.

If the inquiry appears to be within ImLaw’s areas of expertise, an ImLaw team member will respond to let you know.

  3. Set Up Consultation

The next step is typically to schedule a one-hour video consultation with one of our experienced immigration lawyers, inform you of our current consultation fee and payment instructions, and provide you with our attorneys’ next available date and time for consultation. Once we confirm that the consultation fee has been received, we will email you a link to the video consultation for the confirmed date and time.

  4. Meet Virtually

During the video consultation, we will ask about the relevant background facts about the company and/or individual in question, discuss your immigration goals, and request applicable documents such as the offered job description from the company and/or an up-to-date resume/CV and copies of current and prior immigration status documents of the individual in question. After we learn about your situation and priorities and you’ve had the opportunity to ask questions, our attorney will explore with you how ImLaw can help you achieve your immigration goals.

  5. Review Options

If there are available options under law, our attorney will share those options with you, the requirements, pros, and cons of each option, and a recommendation for the best solution, if applicable, based on your unique situation. It is important to note that submitting an inquiry to ImLaw, communicating with an ImLaw team member, and/or participating in a consultation with an ImLaw attorney does not create an attorney-client relationship.

  6. Retain Services

Following the consultation, if our attorney recommends a specific legal service, an ImLaw team member will email you our current and applicable electronic contract, intake questionnaires, and other relevant information for your review and reference. Should you choose to retain our legal services for a particular immigration matter, you’ll need to review and e-sign our contract and pay the specified retainer fee.

  7. Get to Work

Once we’ve been officially retained, you’re now a client! As an ImLaw client, you can expect timely and compassionate service and legal counsel based on decades of experience. You will work closely with our talented team of legal professionals, including an assigned attorney, paralegal, and legal assistant, throughout your immigration process with ImLaw.

Every person at ImLaw is committed and aligned with our mission—to help you achieve your immigration goals. We understand how important each case is to you. We empathize with the confusion, frustration, and feelings of being overwhelmed that often come with immigration matters.
